By installing or using STT.bd you agree to what is below. If you do not, do not use it.
The service
STT.bd is a desktop application for dictating Bengali and English, and a backend that transcribes audio on request. It is offered as it is. It is not sold as fit for any particular purpose, and it should not be relied on where a mistranscription would be dangerous or costly, medical, legal or safety-critical work among them.
Your account and balance
- An account secret is shown once when the account is created. It is the only way to link another device or recover access, and we cannot recover it for you, because we store only a hash of it.
- The cloud engine is prepaid. Usage is billed per second of audio against your balance at the rate shown in the app when the work is done.
- Unused balance can be refunded on request while the service is running. Balance already spent on transcription cannot, because the cost has been incurred on your behalf.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account secret and device tokens.
Acceptable use
Do not use STT.bd to:
- record anyone without the consent the law where you are requires;
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights;
- attack, overload or work around the limits of the service, including automating it to a degree that degrades it for others.
We may suspend an account that is doing any of these. Where that happens without cause, unused balance is refunded.
Availability
There is no uptime guarantee. The service depends on third parties, Google's speech recognition among them, and can be interrupted or discontinued. If it is discontinued permanently, unused balances will be refunded where we can reach you to do it.
Your content
What you dictate is yours. We claim no rights over it. We store transcripts produced by the cloud engine so that failures can be investigated and usage can be substantiated, as described in the privacy policy. Privacy
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of STT.bd is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use STT.bd after a change means accepting it.
